Why Massage Does NOT Always Help With Neck Pain.

Why Massage Does NOT Always Help With Neck Pain.

Are you frustrated with the pain between your shoulder blades into the neck? You think it just muscle tension because that is where you “hold your Stress.”  You decided to go get a massage, but the pain returns within a few hours to a few days.

Why does this happen? It is because the muscle tightness is the symptom of something else going on.

As time goes on you notice that you are having more difficulty with sitting and working due to the pain, that you might have some limitation with turning as you are looking for cars coming while driving.

You then decide to go to a doctor, maybe there is something else the doctors can help with.

They either send you with some medications to help with the pain or send you to get imaging. They use big words after the imaging such as arthritis, degenerative changes, bone spurs, herniated discs.

You start to get fearful that you are going to have to do a dangerous surgery or worse that you are going to have to live with this pain.  Let me tell you. Having pain in the neck is exhausting, it makes it hard to concentrate at times. You stop doing things with your family due to just making it through the day at work.

Does this sound like you?

Here is the good news. We helped lots of people overcome neck pain, avoid surgeries or being on medications. How do we do this? We get to the source of the problem.

Once we know where the problem is from our evaluation, we can give you education on why this is happening and what you can do to solve it. When we get to the source, the muscle tension that you have between your shoulder blades and neck will go away. Adjusting your daily activities that is creating this problem is also a part of the education.

Did you know that having difficulty moving your shoulder can also be related to the neck? Yes, we have even helped people avoid shoulder surgery (even the dreaded rotator cuff surgery) due to the source of the problem was coming from the neck…
